Ellen Alpiner Geddes
Currently a graduate student in Clinical Psychology at the Arizona School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, I am completing my second practicum under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Robin Potter, PsyD. I am also working towards certification in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy and Somatic Experiencing for individuals who have experience trauma. I have worked with individuals diagnosed with mental illness and their families in outpatient mental health and residential settings. I have also provided individual and group psychotherapy to adolescents in juvenile detention and in outdoor adventure based wilderness programs with youth at risk populations.
I create a safe, non-judgmental, therapeutic space to identify my clients strengths and understand the barriers that may be causing anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship problems. As we work together as a team, I integrate evidence based therapeutic practices, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and psychodynamic theory to support clients in creating positive and lasting change, discover their innate ability to heal, and live more authentically.
